India World’s Cheapest $10 Laptop

As the ‘world cheapest Laptops’ are now in India, was unveiled by the union minister for Human Resource Development Arjun Singh at the Tirupati temple on Tuesday evening.

As the laptop is developed by several organizational authorities, such as it includes the University Grants Commission, the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, it will be priced around 10$ to 20$(about Rs. 500 to Rs.1000),as officially it is said. As the memory of laptop is not very large it is around 2 GB onboard memories with wireless Internet connectivity. To make it useful for the students, especially in the rural areas, the scientists have made it low power consuming gadget.

The $10 laptop is being seen as India’s reply to One Laptop per Child’s XO and Classmate of Intel. The XO, created by scientist Nicholas Negroponte and MIT Media Lab was originally targeted to cost only $100 but by the time it was ready to enter the market its cost went up to $188. The Classmate notebook PC from Intel was priced at $ 300 a piece.

In contrast, the Indian government’s effort to market laptop at only $10 has caused a flutter in the international laptop market and there are still many players that are very curious in knowing the details of the costing and they have a eager that how Indians managed to keep cost so low.

The Program which we are taking for includes a global collaborative of educators who are seeking to create educational environments where all participants, children’s, parents, teachers, administrator, staff, & others will feel respected, valued, cared about, & appreciated too. As we begun the project in the celebration of the 50^th anniversary of the United Nations & now it will be supported by the UNESCO, UNICEF, and several well regarded peace organization, instantly this is project is going on approximately in 70 countries world-wide, & has recently been introduced in Miami-Dade Country. The Miami Shores/Barry University Connected Learning Community Charter School has agreed to become a national demonstration site, and nearly 100 teachers from schools throughout the district participated in the recent character education in-service program.

The Miami-Dade School District has designated a main focus value for each & every month during its school year. The value of February is referring to be as INTEGRITY. There is no any rule anyone can participate in this & take an initiative by becoming the part living values. Just think about what the integrity is basically & how can it be Miami-Dade School demonstrated throughout the day. Is the integrity is one your specialties? CHILD LABOUR - IS NOT A NECESSARY EVIL

According to the International Labor Organization (ILO) there is an estimated 165 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 whom are actively involved in child labor. Just over a month ago on June 11th we celebrated World Day against Child Labor. The 2009 theme for World Day against Child Labor was: ‘Education: The right response to child labor’. This year the ILO’s International Programmed on the Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC) has established the campaign to tackle the right to education for all children to break the chain of child labor that envelops millions of children worldwide. As in the country there is the direct relation between all problems like poverty, literacy, unemployment & child labor. As if we try to work out on any one of the problem definitely the other related problems will be improved. So as the child labor is also one of the great problems for the country. This problem directly produces an impact on the poverty and it impact on economy of the country. Therefore it is a cycle that goes unbroken for generations & generations. The recent survey states, about 75 million children in world are without primary education.

Clearly in the real world child labor will not stop overnight - there aren’t the schools, hostels etc to accommodate and rehabilitate these children even if the government had the manpower to round them up - but it’s no bad thing to make a statement of intent. It might work a lot that will help to raise awareness & also to change the attitude.

There many NGOs who are working to eradicate this problem, but they also want some help from government & the public then it is possible to achieve that target. There are mostly in India, they treat their servant’s well- but sometimes it doesn’t occur to them to ask whether they should be keeping school age children as domestic helps at all.

The one country is continuing to fall short in this battle against child labor is India. Despite the establishment of law 2006 which banned the child labor for domestic purpose India remains the worst offender, as the country has more child labor the anywhere around the globe. Government has found only 6,782 child workers but we there are millions of kids are, “ Kailash Satyagrahi, who founded Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the child hood movement) one of India’s leading child rights groups, stated. “From this, there has only been 1,680 prosecutions launched against employers but not a single conviction has taken place.”

The reason for the slow enforcement of the law is our cultural view, where we any crime doing children as a provider for a family. The other obstacle is the lack of will on the part of law enforcement.

The 2006 law is not the first attempt by Indian state to enact laws to address the child labor problem. In India government try to eradicate this problem by enforcing the Child Labor laws in India including 1986 Child Labor Prohibition & Regulation Act that state children less than 14 years of age were prohibited to be employed in occupations deemed hazardous.

As the recent survey states that about 12 million children under the age of 14 years remain employed as domestic, servants, miners, carpet weavers, tea sellers, street paddlers in spite of 2006 law. . The governments figures also fail to address those who continue to be forced to work in situations of hard labor, such as in mining often forces to break stones with their bare hands, or left to work in the textiles industry, such as to embroider saris.

The fight against child labor is going on, as millions of child toil away in hazardous & abusive conditions.

Ballroom Dancing - A Brief History

When you think of Ballroom dancing, you generally think of flowing gowns and dark tuxedos. You also think of beautiful, willowy, women and tall, dark, handsome men waltzing their way around the dance floor. However, ballroom dance is not just the Waltz, it is a lot more. From the elegant and stately waltz, a hot, sultry and sexy Tango or Paso Doble, or a good bit of lively fun like the Fox Trot, Jive or Quick Step, ballroom dancing is all of these.

Technically, ballroom dancing is defined as "Any of various, usually social dances in which couples perform set moves". However, the word "ball" (not the child's toy) comes from the Latin "ballare" meaning to dance and forms the base for the word ballroom (a room for dancing), ballet (a dance), and ballerina (a dancer).

Ballroom dancing was very popular among the gentry (or upper class) of England, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and didn't really catch on with the working class until the late 19th and early 20th century.

It wasn't until the early 1920's that competitive ballroom dancing began gaining popularity. As a result, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (formerly known as The Imperial Society of Dance Teachers) formed a Ballroom Branch whose function was to standardize the ballroom dances.

Today, modern ballroom dancing revolves around five dances comprising: the Modern Waltz; the Viennese Waltz; the Slow Foxtrot; Tango; and the Quickstep.

Latin American ballroom is short for Latin and American - not a reference to Latin countries and its dances are the Samba; Rumba; Paso Doble; Cha-Cha; and the Jive.

The modern ballroom dances all involve a couple dancing in a closed hold and vary in tempo (beats per minute) and rhythm (structure). A closed hold involves 5 bodily points of contact between the couple. Three of these points involve the hands, the males left hand holding the females right, the females left hand on top of the males right upper arm (for the Tango the females hand would go behind his arm) and the males right hand on the females back resting on her left shoulder blade. The other two points of contact are the females left elbow resting on the males right elbow and the right side of the females chest touching the right side of the males chest. This dance posture provides a very elegant look as the couple floats across the dance floor and has its origins in the European royal courts.

There is some conjecture that the right side-to-right side contact of the closed hold may have originated from a time when men danced while wearing their swords, which were hung on their left sides. Additionally, this theory would also explain the counter clockwise movement around the dance floor as the man would've stood on the inside of the circle so he wouldn't inadvertently hit any of the people watching the dancers with his sword as he danced past.

The dancing posture for Latin American ballroom varies from dance to dance with some dances using the closed hold and others where the partners hold each other with only one hand.

Both Modern Ballroom and Latin American Ballroom has been standardized for teaching purposes and has a set, internationally recognized vocabulary, technique, rhythm and tempo.
